about me
Mitch Toher
Texas-based creative
As a musician, sound designer, and audio engineer active in the vibrant Austin music scene, I perform live and produce records for an assortment of local acts. I write and release music as chef leftover and play at venues all around town with bands like Minivan Dad, Bos Grunniens, and Barb. Chicago-based multi-instrumentalist leyden has long been another frequent collaborator on countless musical projects. In November 2024, I had the pleasure of serving as the Lead Sound Designer and a contributing composer for an off-broadway production of Loneliness Was a Pandemic written by Olivia Haller and directed by Alex Kopnick.
Before moving to Austin, I led the sketch comedy group Boy in the Bubble at Indiana University, writing and acting in an all-original show every other week. Auditioning freshman year was one of the best decisions I ever made and it sparked a love for performing that continues today. I also had the pleasure of co-hosting a weekly radio show on WIUX 99.1 FM called “Talk,” which was nominated by the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System for Best Comedy Radio/Video Production in 2020. I also contributed artist mixes and album reviews to the station’s website.
Beyond my passion for sound, I also enjoy shooting photo and video. I am an avid supporter of Arsenal and I really love cats.
